Kris asks her if she receives these things for Christmas, would she believe in Santa Claus. Susan tells him that she would.

With Kris Kringle as its store Santa, Cole’s sells more merchandise than ever, but one night, Kris Kringle is arrested for assaulting someone. Naturally, he was set up by Cole’s competitor, which is Shopper’s Express. During the court case, it becomes clear to Kris’s lawyer that to win, he must prove that Santa Claus could exist. Susan helps him with this seemingly herculean task, convincing the judge to rule that it’s possible to believe in someone without hard evidence that they exist.
