Tourists who want to experience Europe need not look far; Frankenmuth is known for its old-fashion European ambiance. Founded by German Lutheran immigrants during the 1800s, it still preserves its Franconian-inspired architecture buildings and houses. Michigan’s Military and Space Heroes Museum

Learn more about the history of men and women who risks their lives so that others may live. Michigan’s Military & Space Heroes Museum is another great museum highlighting many wartime experiences of Michigan patriotic people. They aim to educate the public about their unselfish act of heroism. This one of a kind museum features exhibits of over 800 displays about the World War One, Michigan’s Space Pioneers, and Michigan Governors. Some of the galleries include War on Terror Gallery and Congressional Medal of Honor Gallery which houses the largest collection of Medals of Honor in the United States. The museum also showcases original examples and different memorabilia of Michigan veterans from America’s seven foreign wars and space program.

Bavarian Belle Riverboat

Located near to the waterfall in River Place Shopping Village, Bavarian Belle Riverboat gives tourists a unique adventure onboard a passenger vessel features an open-air canopied upper deck and enclosed lower part filled with modern amenities. The boat has a snack bar that serves different kinds of beverages during the one-hour historical cruise. It’s fitted with modern restrooms so guests can enjoy the cruise without being bothered at all in going anytime especially with little kids in the haul. Fully restored to safety and aesthetically, the Bavarian Belle Riverboat offers tours around Frankenmuth while looking at the magnificent Cass River. Tours can last for hours and boats leave dock every day from 11 in the morning to dusk. Family-owned and operated, guest can know more about locals and they even offer to host special events like birthday parties and weddings. Tourists who were in the boat claimed that the Bavarian Belle Riverboat is one of the best things to do while visiting Frankenmuth.

Castle Shops at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant

Almost all tourists who visited Frankenmuth find themselves following the cobblestone streets leading them to varieties of specialty stores. Castle Shops at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant has charm tourists for its fairytale-like ambiance and different stores. Shops like Royal Gift Shops known to have thousands of collectibles and treasures including nutcrackers, German clothing, and steins. Little kids would love the Doll & Toy Shop where anyone can find amusing toys to delight them. To top it all of, Candy Corner & Chocolate Shop and the Castle Shop Bakery offer tourists a wide selection of chocolates, fudge, cakes, and a lot of pastries which can be enjoyed over a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Frankenmuth Historical Museum

 

Frankenmuth Historical Museum features seven galleries and different exhibits all dedicated to preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage of the town. Showcasing various hands-on exhibits, with audio and presentations along with artifacts about the Lutheran missionary colony in 1845, makes this museum a must visit in Frankenmuth. Visitors can explore the museum at their own pace or be entertained in one of the docent-led guided tours where local historians can explain the different kinds of display and exhibits.

Grandpa Tiny’s Farm

Dedicated in memory of Granda Tiny, this history farm will delight children of all ages. They can safely interact with hands-on farm activities and mingle with other on guided tour. The tour features a visit to the Petting Farm where children can hold and play with baby bunnies, goats, chicks, as well as other farm animals. Providing educational tour for everyone, the farm gives importance to the agriculture history of the where they have weekly demonstrations of draft horses plowing, planting, and harvesting. During good weather conditions, they even have many outdoor activities for families. Visitors can also explore the one-room schoolhouse in the vicinity. But the highlight of the tour, going on a narrated wagon ride around the farm passing through the century-old farmhouse and crosses the Dead Creek by way of the historic Black Bridge.
