The Best Wedding Venues in Northern Michigan

Navigation:

Northern Michigan is a magical place. It has sleeping bear dunes and tunnels made of trees. You can explore historic fishing towns or take in the majestic colors of Fall.
And, if you are looking for the perfect wedding venue, it’s a place that should be on your short list. (Ernest Hemingway even got married in Northern Michigan!)

The Best Wedding Venues in Northern Michigan

Here are some of our favorite venues in Northern Michigan:

Castle Farms

5052 M-66

Charlevoic, Michigan

https://www.castlefarms.com

Located in the beautiful resort community of Charlevoix, Castle Farms offers your wedding guests the opportunity to explore acres of gardens, discover dragons (you read that right) and experience Michigan’s largest outdoor model railroad. Built in 1918, this castle is bursting with history. It’s hosted the likes of Tina Turner and Aerosmith, and even once had its own baseball team – the Sodbusters!

Castle Farms has eight different wedding venues on location. No matter the time of year, the settings at Castle Farms are as majestic as they are grand. The King’s Great Hall and Queen’s Courtyard venue accommodates up to 300 people and allows for a beautiful outdoor wedding with a spacious indoor reception filled with candelabra chandeliers, stone walls, cathedral windows and spacious balconies.

Another reason we love this venue – the photo opportunities! From the Butterfly Garden to the King’s Grand Courtyard (based on the landscaping found at Chateau de Vaux-le-Comte in France), your wedding photos will shine!

The Homestead Resort

1 Wood Ridge Road

Glen Arbor, Michigan

https://www.thehomesteadresort.com

Good Morning America has called the Sleeping Bear Dunes one of the “most beautiful places in America.” The Homestead Resort calls the area home. As picturesque as it is relaxing, the 500 acre property has forests, streams, white sand beaches and plenty of sparkling blue water.

The Mountain Flowers Lodge is the premiere venue on location. Accommodating up to 170 people, the space gives you a warm, cozy feeling. It’s not every day you get to stand next to a fireplace (of which there are many) and stare at a beautiful, cascading waterfall.

Of course the reception is important, but let’s not forget about the little extras that can put your wedding weekend over the top! The Homestead offers welcome parties for your guests (on the beach or at the top of a mountain), spa days for your wedding party and golf for the guys.

Blue Bridge

1950 Ellis Lake Rd.

Grawn, Michigan

BlueBridge Wedding Venue & Event Center | Traverse City, Michigan

Blue Bridge describes itself as a place that represents some of what makes Northern Michigan one of the most incredible places in the world. Taking a quick stroll around the 10-acre property, you can see why.

While The Bridge Chapel (accommodating nearly 260 guests) is a sight to see, it’s the smaller Blue Chapel we find particularly wondrous. It creates an amazing, photogenic centerpiece on your big day. The greenery and rustic wood is as gorgeous as it is quaint.

Visions at CentrePointe

12935 S West Bay Shore Drive

Traverse City, Michigan

myvisionsweddings.com

The Visions at CentrePointe definitely has a more modern feel to it compared to other venues. Chosen as a “best of weddings” pick by The Knot in 2016, this venue has a very nautical feel to it. The area is speckled with sail boats and docks, creating unique photo opportunities for you and your wedding party.

Visions at CentrePointe helps take the stress out of wedding planning. They pride themselves on helping you every step of the way, from catering to bartending to decorations.
